Reading Reflection
For each reading reflection post, I ask you to address the following areas:
1)
What was the biggest surprise for you in the reading?
In other words, what did you read that stood out the most as different from
your expectations?
I never really thought of introduction of new
product and services as a threat, but a person who has an existing business or
service I can see how to them the new entrants into the field could be seen as
threats and how important it is to be ahead of the curve at all times and apply
the principles learned in earlier chapters on how to always look for
opportunities.
2)
Identify at least one part of the reading that was
confusing to you.
The section on rivalry and competitors in the same
in industry was a section that I found confusing on the part about eliminating
rivalry. I always thought that it was a given that there will be some form of
competition regardless how good of a service or product you have. What you
should always focus is improving your product or service and ensuring that your
customers are satisfied and that will make you stand out amongst your
competitors.
3)
If you were able to ask two questions to the
author, what would you ask? Why?
I really didn’t have any questions that I felt
needed answering from the author, I thought it was very good article, it was
very interesting.
4)
Was there anything you think the author was wrong
about? Where do you disagree with what she or he said? How?
I don’t think the author got anything wrong in this
article and found it to be informative and straight forward.
