Elevator Pitch No. 2
The feedback I got back was from talking to friends, family and co-workers. I didn't record those because I knew them and weren't strangers to me. Some mentioned that I should make sure people understand the app features, be more detail oriented and ensure that I provide a price range. I need to work on making the app available for licensing so that manufacturers can put into mobile devices as a standard feature.
After receiving the feedback I really didn't make any changes to what I had originally planned and envisioned for the app.
Hi Joselyn,
ReplyDeleteYou seemed to have styled this video like a debriefing rather than an elevator pitch. I feel like this would be more suited to a client update, you are giving a run through on the progress of your project rather than selling it to me. The purpose of this exercise is to practice sounding confident in an idea and presenting it in a way that makes me sure beyond a doubt that I want in on it with you. I had to read through your other posts to find out what your idea is.
As far as critiquing the actual idea, I believe that what you are proposing, a basic smartphone function that allows you to monitor individual app's data use, already exists in multiple forms on smart phones. I can find this information in both my app manager and data usage tabs. I might be missing something, but I do not see what's new.
I apologize if I sound rude, I am trying to provide honest feedback. Thank you for sharing, and here is a link to my own blog: http://ablog4c.blogspot.com/2016/02/elevator-pitch-2.html
Hello Joselyn. As the previous comment points out this assignment was supposed to be practice delivering a pitch, not a progress update. Looking at your previous posts, I think you have an idea that people could really benefit from. People who don’t have a big data plan to work with could find this useful. But I don’t know if the price range you gave would work. There are already features built into the phone that allow you to see a general idea of how much data you use per app.
ReplyDeleteI also tried to pitch a product that focused on something specific.

Hi Joselyn, your app idea sounds intriguing. Instead of explaining the precise details, try to stay focused on major components with some detail. It would be best to format your explanation into an elevator pitch style where you are trying to convince someone to buy your app. The believe that including a price in an elevator pitch is a good idea when it comes to apps; the $1.99 to $2.99 price range you gave is a great estimate. Just adjust to an elevator pitch format and great job! If you get a chance, please check out my elevator pitch at http://innovationnation101.blogspot.com/2016/02/elevator-pitch-no-2.html.
ReplyDeleteHey Joselyn, I think your app idea is great! I am assuming you didn't realize this assignment was just supposed to be a basic pitch for your product, but I appreciated how your video went more in depth than some of the pitch videos I've watched. It was really interesting to hear about other people's feedback on your product. Good luck and if you want to check out my blog post you can find it here: http://blogmenexttime.blogspot.com/2016/02/elevator-pitch-2.html
