Reading Reflection
For each reading reflection post, I ask you to address the following areas:
1)
What was the biggest surprise for you in the reading?
In other words, what did you read that stood out the most as different from
your expectations?
One of the concepts that stood out for me in chapter 3
was corporations adopting entrepreneurial concepts to its strategic business
plans. It was stated that the need for companies to continuously innovate
product and services and to be able to compete in this century where
technological advances are always being made they needed an entrepreneurial mind
set in order to keep pace with its competitors and stay relevant.
2)
Identify at least one part of the reading that was
confusing to you.
I was confused to see that ethics was something that
needed to be addressed in entrepreneurship. I was always led to believe that
ethics regardless if it’s a corporation or venture that was core competent when
conducting business.
3)
If you were able to ask two questions to the
author, what would you ask? Why?
Should a venture develop a code of ethics that
should be adhered by both its employees and suppliers? How should a small
venture in act and develop code of ethics?
4)
Was there anything you think the author was wrong
about? Where do you disagree with what she or he said? How?
I don’t think the author got anything wrong. They
provided good examples and tables for both chapters.
